EDUCATION
University of Texas at Austin
B.S. Advertising, Concentration: Account Services and Texas Interactive (TXI)
I am student number four in UT’s first wave of web-trained communicators. In specialized courses, TXI allowed me to concentrate my studies on all digital media and to work alongside creative and technical teams. I can communicate across lines, make things happen, and sell the result to clients in formal presentations.
Graduation date: May 2002
EMPLOYMENT
The University Co-op
Marketing/Web Intern (2002)
With Crystal reports, I measure the success of home page changes and email blasts by evaluating product sales in reference to online placement. In addition, I track daily sales, noting reoccurring successes and failures. The results are compiled in spreadsheet form and are sent off to the different departments for merchandise adjustments.
Palestine Public Library (Nationally Recognized Small Library)
Project Manager (2001)
In a two-month rapid development cycle, I led the team that did a complete information architectural overhaul of the library’s web page, with graphic refreshment and content enhancement. Not only was the project completed on time, but it also was finished slightly under the allocated budget.
COURSEWORK
University of Minnesota Bookstore Website
Project Manager/Copywriter (2000)
With this assignment teams were asked to design proto-type web developments for ongoing web sites from afar. The only contact with clients before the final presentation was via teleconference and email. As lead copywriter, I extensively researched the competitive online retail market within both the bookstore and commercial segments. I then emerged as team leader and forged negotiations among three very talented, strong-willed and independent technologists. My team and I presented to and were well received by the National Association of College Stores (Large Stores Group) Annual Convention, a gathering of 100+ bookstore CEOS and CIOs.
Site Compilation of the Digital Future
Creator (2001-Present)
In an attempt to map out the possibilities of interactive advertising for future TXI portfolio students, I catalogued the industry into five major segments. The result of countless hours of research and exploration, each section contains solid, in-depth sources rooted in the growth and possibilities of digital media.

LEADERSHIP
Kappa Delta Sorority
President (2000-2001)
In a non-profit organization of 150+ girls, I delegated responsibilities, handled pressing issues, and acted as chief moderator between the alumnae and members. Through constant interface with other sorority and campus leaders, I represented the chapter on local, state, and national levels.
Camp Mystic for Girls
Summer Counselor (2000)
After spending a month with 15 seven-year olds, I learned that a conscious use of attentive leadership never goes unnoticed or unappreciated. Having enough confidence in one’s own authority to share it with others inspires respect and trust.
